ARLINGTON
Heavy traffic expected

for Yankees day game

The Texas Rangers and Arlington police have put additional measures into place for the heavy traffic expected for today's sellout game against the New York Yankees.

Rangers Ballpark parking lots will open early at 9 a.m., with gates opening at 10 a.m. for the 1:05 p.m. game.

The Interstate 30 HOV lane will be open westbound from Dallas beginning at 10 a.m. to ease traffic into Arlington. Beginning at 3 p.m., the HOV lane will be open eastbound into Dallas to help move postgame traffic.

Rangers officials suggest fans avoid using Green Oaks Boulevard west of State Highway 360, Randol Mill Road between Highway 360 and Great Southwest Parkway, and Collins Street between Lamar Boulevard and Copeland Road due to heavy construction.

In addition to the Rangers game, Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor will also be open Memorial Day, adding to the potential traffic headaches in the area.
