Amanda Brumfield has been charged with child neglect in the death of a one-year old. Amanda Brumfield was babysitting.
Amanda Brumfield told police the baby died in October, following a fall from her playpen. Amanda Brumfield told that after the baby had fallen, she discovered her tongue bleeding, so she cleaned it with a paper towel and began playing with the child. However, the Ocoee Police Department isn't buying the tale.
Amanda Brumfield then said she laid the child on the couch next to her and fell asleep. When she woke up, she discovered the child's body was limp.
An autopsy determined, the child suffered a fractured skull and a subdural hematoma due to blunt trauma.Police records indicate that the emergency call did not take place until two and a half hours after the original fall.
